CRISPY PARMESAN BROCCOLI CHIPS

1 Mins read

Get ready to turn broccoli into a crowd-pleasing, low-carb snack you won’t be able to resist! This recipe is simple, quick, and only requires 3 ingredients: broccoli, parmesan cheese, and seasonings. Plus, it’s a fun way to sneak in some extra fiber and nutrients.

Remember that viral broccoli chip recipe on TikTok? I knew my snack-loving family (aka Hungry Friends) would devour it, and I was right! These turned out super crispy and surprisingly easy to make.

The Secret:

Bigger is better! Skip the tiny florets and opt for medium to large pieces, even combining two small buds if needed.

Cooking Tip:

Boil and blanch broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil, add broccoli, and salt. Keep an eye on it! You want fork-tender, not mushy florets.

Cheese Bliss: I used shredded parmesan for its sharp flavor and firm texture, creating a perfect chip-like bite. My guess is any cheese would work, but I haven’t tested mozzarella or cheddar yet.

Description

Get ready to turn broccoli into a crowd-pleasing, low-carb snack you won't be able to resist! This recipe is simple, quick, and only requires 3 ingredients: broccoli, parmesan cheese, and seasonings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 crowns of broccoli, cut into large florets
  • 10 oz shredded parmesan cheese
  • Salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 420°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Bring a large pot of water (halfway full) to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and 1 teaspoon of salt. Return to a boil, then blanch for 1-2 minutes until fork-tender but not mushy. Drain the broccoli and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Spread a thin layer of parmesan cheese on the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the broccoli florets on top, leaving some space between them.
  4. Gently smash each floret with a small shot glass or other flat object. Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and the broccoli is crispy on the edges.

  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a snack or appetizer, or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips:

  1. For a vegan option, use vegan shredded cheese.
  2. Try different seasonings, such as red pepper flakes, paprika, or nutritional yeast.
  3. Don't overcook the broccoli; you want it tender but not mushy.
  4. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch, marinara, or blue cheese.
